The bamboo green from Sichuan, formerly known to many as zhuyeqing [literally bamboo leaf green] a name which has since been trademarked by some mega corporation, is a green tea processed similar to sparrow tongue. However, the hairs/trichomes have been processed off and the color of the dry leaf is a greener color than the slightly more yellow sparrow tongue. There is a sacrifice in the smoothness of the mouthfeel for a boost in flavor and potency. Nutty flavors and bright aromas burst forth from this tea.
