Notes
The first steep was really just a long rinse to encourage the ball to open, but it’s enough to pick up an aggressive smoke and some light camphor. The second steep really gets into the sweetness; still a heavy smoke, but it’s layered on top of smooth forest floor earthiness. The smoke has maybe lightened up on the third steep, but it’s still very present and very pleasant, while the sweetness is feeling kind of molasses-y now.
